Bull, James

Executive Creative Director and Founder (Moving Brands)

James co-founded Moving Brands in 1998 after graduating in Graphic Design from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (CSM). He was Creative Director on Moving Brands until Jan 2008, when he was promoted to Executive Creative Director.

He oversees the creative output of a multi–disciplinary studio and believes that truly powerful brand experiences are created with a consideration of a brand's Moving, Static, Sonic and Responsive assets (an approach unique to Moving Brands).  Such experiences allow brands to thrive and stand out in an increasingly complex world.

He has a broad appreciation of the creative arts with a special interest in sound – with emphasis on how sound can be used and created for business. As a leader in this field, he has defined methodologies and strategies for the effective and coherent creation of sonic identities and sonic brand assets.

In his role as Creative Director, James has created work for Vodafone, The Body Shop, J:Com, Nokia, Keane, Universal Records and Nokia Siemens Networks.

James believes that great brands need to truly understand the people that interact with them – a great brand identity evolves around a core story (that people understand and want to get involved in), the Brand Narrative®, and by exploring and understanding the ever-evolving platforms and media that stories can be told on branding can remain effective for clients, customers and brands.

He is a great believer the importance of the ‘creative arts’ within education and as such keeps strong ties with CSM and within the newly formed University of Arts London (UAL). He is also an active member of the universities alumni association.  He has judged awards including; the Fresh Awards, D&AD Student awards, D&AD New Blood and this years Xhibit 08.

James has and continues to create a forward thinking branding agency that is built on this unique approach and loves all things innovative and digital.
